Hello, I'm Anna

I'm a watercolor artist in Nashville, and my work is about hands — what they hold, what they remember, and everything they say without a word. That fascination started early: I grew up alongside my older brother, who has Cerebral Palsy, and I learned young just how much a hand can communicate beyond words.

I trained at the Savannah College of Art and Design in graphic design and science illustration, and that observant, detail-loving eye still shapes how I paint. I work mostly on panel using my own clayboard recipe — a surface that gives watercolor a brightness, texture, and depth you can't get on paper — and I keep my compositions spare so the hand can carry the whole emotional weight.

My paintings have shown at The Butcher Gallery and Gutstein Gallery in Savannah, and around Nashville at Soundwaves Gallery, Coop Gallery's Garden of Earthly Delights, and Arcade's Art Between the Avenues, and I was recently chosen to create a piece for the Nashville Youth Campus for Empowerment's permanent collection. Now, I am with the Peace Corps to serve in their Community and Economic Development Sector in Fiji and will continue to paint while I volunteer.
